    What a pantomime.
So the Saturday recall of Parliament was a complete dud.
   I'll tell you why.
Because this issue didn't just happen in the last 24-48 hours.
This has been coming down the tracks for the last 10 days to 2 weeks at least.
Now if I knew that, then I'm damn sure that people in government knew about it and if they didn't, then they're more incompetent than I gave them credit for.
They've waited till the last second to play politics and waste public money.
They wouldn't have done anything I don't believe had Nigel Farage and Richard Tice not gone to British Steel in Scunfork during the week and made this a massive issue.
Labour then decided instead of actually doing it during parliamentary business, having emergency debates, late night sittings, you can do all of that, that's no problem.
Instead they decide to recall Parliament on a Saturday, giving the false impression that Starmer is this strong leader who's decided we need drastic action at vast cost to the public.
But they don't care about that.
This may even have been Morgan McSweeney.
I don't think Starmer's got the political brain to actually think of something like this.
   It's probably Morgan McSweeney.
But don't forget, you're not just recalling the MPs who are on salaries, you're recalling the thousands of staff that work inside the House of Commons as well, in the bars, the restaurants, the door staff.
   All on what?
   Time and a half?
   Maybe even double time?
And I would love to know how much it costs just to recall Parliament for that one day.
And then Starmer shot up to Scunfork to get his photo opportunity, didn't he?
   Ridiculous.
And he wouldn't even nationalise the industry.
The one thing we should nationalise is steel production.
   Sod the Chinese.
I don't care about the Chinese.
I don't care if the company that owns that Scunfork plant loses billions of pounds.
   Not my problem.
It should never have been sold to a hostile state in the first place.
Once again, this country looks ridiculous.
The government looks reactive rather than proactive.
And Labour seem to be spending their entire time at the moment simply firefighting what reform are doing rather than having their own clear agenda for government.
Years they knew they were going to win the next general election.
Everybody knew it because the Tories were in such disarray.
And in all that time, plus the 14 years in opposition, they couldn't think of any credible plans for government.

2.@Sp0tthed0gt(2025-04-13 12:06:10)
To save British steel make it profitable. To make it profitable drastically cut energy prices. To do that ditch the green crap.
3.@omgitsabloodyandroid5161(2025-04-13 12:06:42)
I’m old enough to remember British Steel in the 70s. It was a disaster
4.@julielittle1270(2025-04-13 12:07:21)
It was done to impress it didnt We just hate him more For once again treating us like were stupid
5.@roypowell3450(2025-04-13 12:07:39)
Correct! Now what is the betting Trumps tariffs will get blamed for this! Keeping money from Ukraine would help to pay for the steel plant if he is serious!
6.@lozzy2587(2025-04-13 12:08:09)
Starmer is the world’s joke ????
7.@jackof64(2025-04-13 12:08:17)

14.@Mark-fw8pd(2025-04-13 12:14:22)

16.@inglepropnoosegarm7801(2025-04-13 12:16:27)
They certainly are redefining the word incompetence.
17.@whysa4(2025-04-13 12:17:46)
Labour were still asleep at the wheel when REFORM were calling for British Steel to be nationlised
18.@michaelmahon8896(2025-04-13 12:18:15)
Stamera waited until he thought it would make an impact on the upcoming local elections,,, he's right,,,, people are fully aware of his duplicitous behaviour
19.@pippaneil4632(2025-04-13 12:18:24)
Everthing about starmer is fake .
20.@MenkaLelf(2025-04-13 12:21:09)
In charge, by the looks of his face, he's barely in charge of his bowels
21.@malp78(2025-04-13 12:21:17)
At least with this Steel intervention we should be assured that there is a can available, for the next week or two, to kick down the road!
22.@jofox5897(2025-04-13 12:21:48)
It could’ve been discussed beforehand. Starmer want to go into the history books as one of the few days parliament was recalled on a Saturday. It’s all about ‘look at me in power’
23.@Lousialee-hm3gu(2025-04-13 12:22:09)
I don't know why but as soon as I heard about the recall I thought it was about something else and not the steel industry.
24.@ronclark4847(2025-04-13 12:22:19)
I know you're a Deform fanboy...and that's absolutely fine with me...however...I think you are missing the actual reason this was done in such a 'media circus' way...as much as it was designed to make Starlin look something he isn't...strong/caring etc. ...the primary aim was to cancel the uproar about the abhorrent abandonment of the gang inquiries.
25.@marumaru6084(2025-04-13 12:22:35)
Yet Labour passed some emergency legislation which no doubt looses us some freedoms.
26.@phillipwilliams140(2025-04-13 12:24:28)
There all brain dead ????????????????
27.@DMDM-ls2wh(2025-04-13 12:24:59)

29.@Veeodee(2025-04-13 12:25:32)
Starmer is no leader at all There should have been no recall - should have been done in a Timeous way like professional people. Should have saved the Welsh steelworks as well as Grangemouth. These are all inadequacies of the current gvt and any other gvt that was in over, I Believe, would have saved them. We have receding industries thanks to this gvt and so many more jobs lost before even accounting for this. This is not saving jobs - this is just putting brakes on for once, and zero thanks to this gvt
30.@bobbybearing1767(2025-04-13 12:26:00)
Starmer is going down. Vote Reform UK on 1st of May! Only just over a few weeks to go.
31.@davidbillings5610(2025-04-13 12:27:53)
At every opportunity VOTE REFORM and get our Country BACK
32.@cloudfive53(2025-04-13 12:28:11)
The government are only interested in self preservation. The needs of the country and its people are never considered in business deals.
33.@warren-s8r(2025-04-13 12:29:27)
Starmer is a global joke.
34.@simonweakley3479(2025-04-13 12:30:07)
No one has said that this is industrial theft of land and assets from a company, even though it is the CCP. Firstly it breaks international law, secondly the law can be used to steal any company in Britain from shareholders and lastly what if the CCP is furious that a company they were determined to close down and take the order book is now not theirs to do that to. Who is going to invest from overseas in the UK if Parliament can just sweep in and steal the assets. It should never have been sold for a quid in the first place the the Ruling Class have not got a clue what they are doing.
35.@JonnyWatson-d6f(2025-04-13 12:32:11)
The show must go on for the traveling circus which is labour. Release the sausages.
36.@twistedsister2568(2025-04-13 12:32:21)
Recalling Parliament is all theatrical, done to show the public how wonderful they are. Starmer thinks we’re all,as stupid as he is. This should have been dealt with months ago.
37.@songscoops4205(2025-04-13 12:33:56)
It won't go well ...on the hoof once again...
38.@MichealOCoileain-w2f(2025-04-13 12:35:27)
Ahh, but, they had a plan all along. As starmer said, pre-election, and still harps on about today occasionally, it's been fully costed. I must admit, when he said that for the first time pre-election, my ears perked up and I thought, here we go, the great unwashed will be picking up all of the bills.

And so we have. Never fear, more to come I'm sure.
39.@George-r5w4z(2025-04-13 12:36:36)
Pay day for them.. thats all. Wonder why the countrys broke?. Migrants and thieving parliment????. ????????????????????

43.@scottdale2176(2025-04-13 12:49:39)
Starmer is not kidding anybody,we know exactly what his motives are in every situation,to make himself look big and important, what a tw*t.
44.@kevinrussell1319(2025-04-13 12:49:52)
Starmer wants media to deflect from grooming gangs. It's a pantomime and the public is the audience.
45.@lesliecarter4295(2025-04-13 12:53:28)
Virtue signalling exercise …? Miliband buying all the infrastructure off of a hostile state…!
46.@FrankAustin-m2c(2025-04-13 12:53:36)
Whole world must be laughing at uk government
47.@johnlesoudeur3653(2025-04-13 12:53:54)
What happened to the ludicrous "coalition of the willing"? Another joke. Similar to Cameron's..."the Big Idea".
48.@tonysheerness2427(2025-04-13 12:55:05)
Trying to say they care for the 3000 steel workers when it the government and their policies that are destroying jobs. They are not the white nights they think they are.
49.@deborahpearson2339(2025-04-13 13:00:41)
You’re dead right Farage has bin warning em about the Chinese being involved for years he said at the time they want it to run it in to the ground and then to flood Britain with cheap steel cheap because they use slave labour. Farage is brighter than all the front benchers put together where was 2 tier when Port Talbot needed them ? Vote Reform and let’s get a proper leader in place
50.@AlbertMartin-p8d(2025-04-13 13:02:17)
Steel industry doomed with dippy in charge
