    Well, howdy there, internet people.
   It's Bell again.
So today, we're going to talk about Trump, oil industry layoffs, and finding out.
I'd get ready for a lot of discussion about oil prices, layoffs, and so on this week.
Let's start with the good news.
Gas prices are probably coming down.
   Bad news?
Pretty much everything else related to the industry unless Trump drastically alters course.
Between OPEC upping production, Trump's tariffs raising production costs, and Trump's erratic economic policies spiking recession fears and causing market uncertainty, oil prices have dropped like a rock.
Dropping oil prices will mean, at least in the short term, a gas price reduction.
It also means lower investment in oil production.
So no drill baby drill or refine baby refine.
   A decrease in domestic production.
And you already have industry leaders talking about layoffs.
If there is a decrease in domestic production, there will be decreases in related industries as well.
So, oil prices have fallen, which means oil producers make less.
Meanwhile, the cost for steel, which is needed for drilling, has gone up because of Trump's tariffs.
It costs more to sell for less.
Goldman Sachs is predicting oil prices in the $50 per barrel range.
That's kind of a moderate estimate.
If the U.S. enters recession, that number drops to below $40 per barrel.
Okay, but since those in the industry are talking about it publicly, let's just get the information straight from them.
Andy Lippo, president of Lippo Oil Associates, said, President Trump's tariff policies are really negatively impacting his goal of drill baby drill.
From the producer's standpoint, they're now seeing substantially lower crude oil and natural gas prices, which is impacting their revenue.
And on the other hand, their cost of drilling materials are going up.
He went on to give the good news in a very Texas way.
I do expect that gasoline prices will start dropping, which is good news for the consumer.
But that just means it costs less to go to the store to pay more for your food and other goods.
Oil industry executive Jay Nelson Wood said, It's very hard for people to have the confidence to invest when markets are in a state of flux and panic.
And that's where we are now.
There's a lot of uncertainty, and that uncertainty prevents development of a lot of projects.
   Markets hate uncertainty.
   All markets.
Cal Hendrick, who is the current mayor of Odessa and an oil and gas attorney, is already worried about jobs.
He said, It affects my neighbors that are going to have to cut jobs, cut the truck drivers, and the welders.
   And these are our people.
It's impossible to support a policy, no matter how well-intentioned, that negatively affects people.
Kirk Edwards, who runs an independent oil and gas company, and is a former chair of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association, said, Nobody in their right mind is going to put out a drilling rig not knowing what the oil price will be.
The longer that goes on, the weaker the industry is going to be from a service standpoint.
Then, you have a lot of layoffs, and the banks are going to be calling.
And it's not going to be pretty out here if that happens.
In true Trumpian style, since U.S. oil producers won't be able to bear the cost of Trump's tariffs and produce oil cheaply enough to deal with OPEC, they simply won't produce as much, which means we'll import more oil, which will probably increase our trade deficit.
Hey, what was this giant mess started over again?
Oh yeah, trade deficits, and bringing jobs to the U.S.
Nationalist trade policies tend not to mix well with global markets.
   Anyway, it's just a thought.
   Y'all have a good day.

There is zero logic behind cuts in any departments. It's all about the tax breaks for billionaires and corporations. Then he is going to make sure we can never vote again.

I’m so used to Odessa meaning the Ukrainian port city that that completely threw me.

The US Right has fallen for its own spin. They are so sure the USA is the big dog and everyone must do as we say. The rest of the world does not need the USA. China has never needed the rest of the world. It took the British Empire and two opium wars to get China to play with the rest of the world. They remember that, and I think they want their silver back. Funny how Communist China is beating the Capitalist Countries at Capitalism. The USA is going to feel what the UK did during the 1950s. The empire is going away, and our global reputation is garbage.

Spot on as usual. The oilfield workers vote against their own intrest over and over. The worst part is hearing people brag on trump for low gas prices but dont see how theyll spent more elsewhere.
23.@isthianlyon1706(2025-04-14 14:08:15)
Always nice to hear the economic outlook being as bad as the current administration works to make life suck for the non-rich.

25.@capnkirk5528(2025-04-14 14:08:47)
Trump will NOT do the one thing that the US needs.
Raise taxes on THE RICH.
NO OTHER POLICY has any hope of turning around the US economy in the short term OR the LONG TERM.
Instead, he is doing the things that will make this WORSE very quickly.

It's going to be a very bumpy ride for America, and you end up finding a way to deal with the GREEDY RICH (and not ALL of them are GREEDY, but MOST are) or you end up looking like RUSSIA.
And that's not a good thing for MOST people.
TRUMP is a symptom, NOT the problem. MAGA is a symptom, not the problem.
Alito, Roberts, Thomas, Citizens United ...THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.
26.@donaldwert7137(2025-04-14 14:09:03)
Good morning Ranch Fam! Hope everyone is well. "It's impossible to support a policy ... that negatively impacts people." I had to pause the video to stop laughing.

Glad to see Republicans getting exactly what they voted for.
28.@aaronjoseph1777(2025-04-14 14:09:25)
Once the layoffs, curtailments and closures happen. OPEC will cut production to bend us over the barrel with higher cost oil and gas. It's almost like the last time when gas was cheap under Trump. It got cheaper for a short term than really expensive.
29.@buckiesmalls(2025-04-14 14:09:31)
All part of Putin's puppet plan to divide/isolate/weaken US.

Good morning peeps ????. Let’s try to make it a good one in our small world ????
31.@positroll7870(2025-04-14 14:09:52)
The real good news: These oil prices will ruin Russia, making it impossible to fund their war machine.
32.@phyllisd.5640(2025-04-14 14:10:03)
GM Belle. Thankyou for this news as MAGAs will start blindly looking at lower gas prices as some kind of a sign that their leader knows all.
33.@frankowot4(2025-04-14 14:10:03)
The damage is done, there will never be any trust in the Trump administration.

Prices of $40-$50 per barrel, but we Americans will still see prices at $80+ per barrel. MuriKKKa.
36.@rustywater3219(2025-04-14 14:10:39)
We need to start tying all this back to heritage foundations' economic theories.
Pull the rug out from under them and everyone associated (trump, maga, tea party, etc) and expose them as econonomic frauds.
37.@milot2311(2025-04-14 14:10:49)
Thank you Belle and Team for the Update, Analysis and View Points.

Here come the comments from illiterate MAGA philosophers about the 4D chess move Trump just played and how you, as a learned woman, must have just missed it.
48.@JimHolder-pk2kk(2025-04-14 14:14:25)
Good job Trump. Your recession has created the conditions that could reduce carbon emissions.

Unfortunately people also die.
49.@bettycarey2446(2025-04-14 14:14:29)
FAFO. His policies were/are never "well-intentioned". They knew that when they voted for him, they just didn't believe they would be harmed by them.

So electing an idiot, narcissistic president is not an effective solution to national problems.?? Got it??Now convince Drumpf voters.
