income tax (5) rachel reeves (3) well (2)	Hi, welcome to another episode of Hot Takes.     Now before we get into this, a couple of people have mentioned in the comments that my voice sounds strange.     Yes, it does.     I'm just sort of very weak-throated.     It's the sort of bad, you know, the side effects of being ill.     I am recovering, so hopefully a day or two should be back to normal.     But thanks for asking.     Now, the Institute of Fiscal Studies has crunched the numbers, looked at what's coming and has said that despite her promises, Rachel Reeves will have no option but to raise taxes.     And it's likely she's going to have to do something that hasn't been done for 50 years.     That is to raise the rate of income tax.     This, despite saying she will not raise income tax.     Well, the line from the number 11 is that there are no plans to raise income tax.     And we all know that there are no plans literally means, yes, we're definitely going to do it.     So be prepared to be even poorer and taxed even more.     Of course, this will affect the lower earners more than the high earners, because the lower earners will be paying tax at a higher percentage of their earnings.     And of course, it's not something that is going to be relished.     But it looks like it's going to absolutely happen.     With everything that's happening and the stagnant economy, rising borrowing costs, growing unemployment, this all has to be paid for.     Sheer incompetence by Rachel Reeves has meant that this debt spiral in this country is out of control and that she has got not one clue on how to deal with it.     So she'll do what she always does because she's incredibly dumb.     She'll raise taxes and make the problem worse.     Now, she has slashed the welfare bill by billions, but that was wiped out almost immediately by the rise in bond costs, bond prices.     And so, boom, they've gone.     And we now have a state of affairs where we have to work so hard and pay so much tax just to pay the interest on our loans, not to pay the loans down.     And so it's a forever loan and there's no way out of it.     And she does not know how to deal with it.     She does not know how to grow an economy.     She does not understand that reducing tax grows the economy because she is incredibly dumb.     Either that or she's doing it on purpose.     But now the whole of the IFS are saying that she either has to do more massive cuts or raise taxes and that the easiest one for her would be to raise income tax across the board.     The moment she does that, of course, even more people will flee the country and take their money with them or at least arrange their affairs in such a way as to be incredibly tax efficient.     Why not?     You know, people know how to spend their money better than the government know how to spend their money.     People wouldn't choose to spend £40,000 a year on illegal immigrants.     The government do.     £40,000 on each one, that is.     £640,000 came over the other day.     Well, there's another £24,000,000 a year we've got to find.     But now Rachel Reeves will be the new Dennis Healey.     He was the last Chancellor to raise income tax and he did so just prior to Britain having to go begging bowls to the International Monetary Fund.     So, 50 years apart and apart from the eyebrows, there's not a lot of difference.     Thanks a lot.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.     Bye.	1. @weefatshug101(2025-04-14 18:32:20) It's all theft. 2. @poppyqueen111(2025-04-14 18:34:00) Just keep taking don't they....we are broke ...don't she get it.. 3. @terrytibbs6029(2025-04-14 18:34:37) More funding for the boat people 4. @verbantermainia1937(2025-04-14 18:35:39) 28% income tax is already a joke ???? 5. @imbonkers3629(2025-04-14 18:35:46) Taxes and cuts for 4 years then plz vote for us ???? 6. @rocka-cb7kk(2025-04-14 18:35:54) get well soon silver 7. @rocka-cb7kk(2025-04-14 18:36:23) more rubbish coming from her evil mind 8. @jamestaylor7042(2025-04-14 18:36:30) Covid 19 9. @myface694(2025-04-14 18:36:42) Time to pull the plug on this toilet of a country. 10. @dave1secondago(2025-04-14 18:36:56) they need more money to fund the thousands of far away people coming in 11. @MenkaLelf(2025-04-14 18:37:00) Rachel commented on the thumbnail stating, it was a good picture of her standing outside of number fifteen ???? 12. @captchaos6870(2025-04-14 18:37:12) Jeezzz.
