Hi, welcome to another episode of Hot Takes.
There's been some interesting number crunching and it seems that one policy will lose Labour 80 seats.
Now the numbers here are actually quite startling.
Now notwithstanding the fact that Labour are doing pretty badly in the polls and are destined to lose hundreds of seats anyway, but this one single, this one single policy is going to see a lot of them gone.
And it of course is the welfare payments cuts and the PIP cuts and things like that.
Now they've looked up and down every single Labour seat in every single Labour held constituency and they've looked at their majorities and then they've looked at the number of people in those constituencies who currently receive either, you know, sickness pay, PIP, welfare of that kind of thing that's been cut by this government.
And if you assume that everyone who was receiving it and who has it cut will no longer vote Labour, well, it's pretty bad for Labour.
And even the backbenchers now are starting to realise that they are in deep, deep trouble.
But more than that, it's ministers.
Ministers such as Naya Griffiths, the education minister, would lose her seat.
Shabana Mahmood at Justice would lose her seat.
Wes Streeting at Health would lose his seat.
And, and I think the one that will please most people the most, Jess Phillips, the perma-sneared, horrible woman, she would lose her seat.
Perhaps that little sneer will come off her face then.
Of course, she only represents the, the, uh, uh, the rape party, doesn't she?
   So, hey.
But, um, this, this policy is one of the most harmful they've got.
And backbenchers now are coming out and talking against it.
And what's weird is they're not even talking on lobby terms.
They're starting to put their names to it.
Um, Andy McDonald, Labour MP for Middlesbrough, um, he's come out and has said that it's wrong.
The government's welfare reforms disproportionately hit constituents who can least afford it.
He says it's a risk in many Labour MPs now see.
   They know it.
   Um, not just him.
Uh, Graham Morris of Easington is coming out.
Neil Duncan Jordan of Poole is coming out.
Um, they're all coming out and saying that this is wrong and bad and needs to change.
Now, on top of all the other things that are going against them, according to, uh, other sort of standard polling where Labour are coming very badly third now, I mean, Labour could be down to maybe double figures at the next election.
But good to see though, some of those awful people out.
   But Jess Phillips, that's sweet.
Anyway, let me know what you think.
   Thanks very much.
   Bye.

19.@sharonowen(2025-04-14 14:02:49)
I can’t look at him his face boils my blood. They shouldn’t be there to be able to lose seats. Can someone anyone please explain to me why he is being allowed to destroy us and our country. Surely there’s something can be done about him.
20.@jackof64(2025-04-14 14:02:51)

21.@petersmith5723(2025-04-14 14:04:03)
This is the silver lining in the big black cloud currently over the UK
22.@arttorres-x1q(2025-04-14 14:06:50)
I can't believe Starmer is still in office, but again here in the United States we had a president with full blown dementia in office for four years defecating and urinating on himself. ????
23.@garyburton7697(2025-04-14 14:07:02)
Already emailed my MP (Labour) to ask what he's going to do after his one term. He voted for cutting the winter fuel allowance
24.@imbonkers3629(2025-04-14 14:08:04)
Be much more then 80 seats ????
25.@PaulineDyer-c1z(2025-04-14 14:08:23)
Starmers hair, is showing all the sighns of all of the lies he has, and continues tell. The body dosnt lie.
26.@melvynplantmusic(2025-04-14 14:08:28)
Labour MPs will go along with everything Starmer and Reeves and the rest do because they know the gig is up, so they’ll milk it for every penny before they’re thrown out! Taking Starmer down will just hasten their trip to the job centre.
27.@brianmaynard9282(2025-04-14 14:10:18)
With a lunatic like Starmer in charge for 5 years there won't be a country left to save.
28.@SuperPirate100(2025-04-14 14:11:02)
I would day rhe biggest thing that is going to lose liebour seats is that they are a lying useless bunch of good for nothings .
29.@Annmarie-b8z(2025-04-14 14:11:45)
Businesses employing disabled people say they are owed hundreds of thousands of pounds by the government, and fear they may have to let staff go.

Under the Access to Work scheme, companies and employees can apply for grants to help support disabled people in the workplace.
30.@christinecarty636(2025-04-14 14:12:29)

36.@arnoldsaunders6073(2025-04-14 14:14:49)
Nia Griffiths almost lost her seat in the general election.
37.@lesleydoughty3895(2025-04-14 14:15:17)
Labour help themselves, their cronies, foreigners, illegals, muslims, making whites third class citizens. So why vote for them? Attacking elderly, attacking disabled and long term sick. Can Britain survive till the next election?
38.@TheShellw1977(2025-04-14 14:17:14)
Some to independents what's worse
39.@caroljones8201(2025-04-14 14:17:18)

Don't distract the enemy from harming themselves.
42.@glenisepearson7407(2025-04-14 14:19:49)
It couldn't happen to a "nicer" group of idiots.????
43.@Moodyblue-o9n(2025-04-14 14:21:07)
And how many seats will they lose as a result of the withdrawal of the WFA? I'll bet many pensioners will hold that single policy against Labour. I'll be honest, I've never voted Labour. Now, as a result of the WFA policy and their failure to "smash the gangs" they don't exist in my thinking.
44.@darrellrobson2484(2025-04-14 14:22:29)
Every day there is more and more reasons to vote reform and save your country
45.@DaveyL1954(2025-04-14 14:23:00)
I'd vote for a 6 year old dog turd if it got Labour out.
46.@kityfitz(2025-04-14 14:25:28)
