Hi, welcome to another episode of Hot Takes.
Nigel Farage is saying that the real reason for Keir Starmer and the Labour Party being desperate to save British Steel, nationalise it, save it, keep it turning, is nothing to do with national security or job security.
It's all to do with stopping reform.
He's saying that should it go off on their watch and end, and there is no more British Steel, Labour will be blamed for it.
They could have done something and they did nothing.
And that would drive voters into the arms of Reform UK.
I think people, especially in sort of Scunthorpe area, where this last station, this last British Steel plant is, are well aware of the situation.
And they all know how desperate Starmer is for, you know, Labour to keep getting votes.
But I think a lot of them probably won't vote Labour next time.
They shouldn't be in this position in the first place.
They're only here because of Labour policy.
And of course, with the rising cost of keeping jobs, there's going to be a lot of people being made unemployed.
   Unemployment will rise.
It's something that's going to affect Labour anyway.
And of course, that's why Nigel Farage is highlighting the point.
And I do believe it's quite right too.
Let me know what you think.
   Thanks very much.
   Bye.owa?uki

I CAN ASSURE YOU MATE THAT AS LONG AS THE REFORM PARTY HAVE A MUSLIM CHAIRMAN CALLING THE SHOTS, VERY FEW PEOPLE INDEED WILL BE REFORM VOTERS. THEY'RE ALL DEFECTING TO UKIP.

I'm voting Reform
11.@ianwilliams4528(2025-04-12 17:22:47)
You only have to look at the recent closure of the Port Talbot Steel Works and the growing success of Reform in Wales to confirm Nigel’s theory.
12.@Welderady(2025-04-12 17:22:54)
All of that combined with the fact that he’s so darned unpopular with the public that he’s literally trying anything to get in their favour. Make no mistake, he doesn’t give a toss about Scunthorpe and the steel mill there or the people who will lose their jobs, it’s about saving himself and his party - Nothing More.
13.@JohnWetherall-u1y(2025-04-12 17:23:58)
Amazing how all of a sudden Labour are helping people with polls and voting coming up but it will all change if it's won them some local elections they will renage on everything after the elections.
14.@kelso120(2025-04-12 17:24:32)
Still voting reform. Although maybe two tier doesn't want to be the PM who got rid of British steel. That would have been his legacy. Along with the two tier justice
15.@tonysheerness2427(2025-04-12 17:24:37)
They fear him which makes them do the right thing.
16.@poppyqueen111(2025-04-12 17:24:44)
Trying to show us they care ......no defo not.....we are not fooled and wont be again who ever is in charge they gave the best steel in he world away for greed .
17.@CliveBaker-j6l(2025-04-12 17:25:00)
It's every governments fault since and including Thatcher
18.@jasonuren3479(2025-04-12 17:25:20)
What was it they got last time, only 30% of the vote? Yet they 'won'? (Probably wasn't 30%, just off the top of my head ????)
Who's to say it won't happen in the next GE ? ????
19.@EllanaWolf(2025-04-12 17:28:42)
I saw a clip from inside Parliament today in which a Labour MP claimed that Nigel has always been against nationalising British steel. It is and outright barefaced lie. Six year he and Tice have been saying it needs nationalising. It’s about time the speaker pulled these MPs up on their lies!
20.@stevenbowman7766(2025-04-12 17:29:20)
They had 45 days notice of this , now that Starmer has to rub his ego and pretend to be the big man , it is all about him ? No surprise there , he will save it and then ditch it as soon as he has what he wants , votes ?
21.@christinecarty636(2025-04-12 17:29:22)

25.@ancietman(2025-04-12 17:33:30)
Our MPs make me sick our governments over the years have allowed Britain to go down the drain, no forward planning, no control & careering from one problem to another.
26.@HappyBear376(2025-04-12 17:35:48)
I left reform. Only indigenous Britons should hold power on our islands.
27.@shirleyflorance2671(2025-04-12 17:35:54)
Labour have ruined our country in 10 months and gave taxpayers money to foreigners leaving our country without and he has ruined small businesses farmers vulnerable and disabled, mass immigration out of control, Everyone will never ever forget what they done to us British people
28.@Steven-D-Allan(2025-04-12 17:36:08)
Labour didn't give a monkeys until Reform went to Scunthorpe to draw attention to this issue.
29.@James-v5r9w(2025-04-12 17:36:39)
Before labour got into power, they said that they would save port talbot steel works. Another lie
30.@trayreipond5935(2025-04-12 17:38:23)

34.@terryrobson620(2025-04-12 17:40:23)
The groveler starts after the destruction by the groveler.
35.@jackking5567(2025-04-12 17:41:13)

36.@MartinBrookes-p1w(2025-04-12 17:41:31)
If Starmer sacked Miliband today it might impress some voters , otherwise he can forget it .
37.@catherinewilkins2760(2025-04-12 17:41:39)
Canvassing returns not looking good, the penny has just dropped. He had weeks to sort this. I wonder how the Canvassing is going in the child rape gangs areas? They will be looking to try to mitigate their losses there too.
38.@peterstead7510(2025-04-12 17:44:07)
tyce and Farage should of made their visit a secret but at least it will give jobs to people who need them all Farage and Tyce have to do now is the same for British coal to run the steel factory and it will create more jobs for those who need them i bet starmer feels really clever nicking somebody else's ideas
39.@malp78(2025-04-12 17:45:11)
I get great comfort every day knowing that this must be all part of Liebour's fully costed plan.
40.@nottyash100(2025-04-12 17:45:17)
Not just 3000 workers but add their dependent and the service industry and you will get a minimum of 10,000 people. let alone the national security situation this was planned by the evil empire of CHINA make no mistake about that.
41.@steveguy1964(2025-04-12 17:46:01)
Vote reform party ???????? enough is enough !! Time for real change .
42.@auldyin8368(2025-04-12 17:46:05)
REcalling parlimental?? Should have made a stand before Redcar Steelworks were flattened etc etc..
43.@lesprice255(2025-04-12 17:46:05)
ITS A BIT LATE NOW FOR LABOUR TO TAKE THIS APPROACH, THE LABOUR PARTY HAS DONE FUCK ALL FOR THE BRITISH PEOPLE AND EVERYTHING FOR THE FUCKING SCROUNGING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WHO ARE CRIMINALS ENTERING THIS COUNTRY
44.@markarnold8160(2025-04-12 17:47:18)
I see Farage's point, but it's all about Labour trying to be saviours. I don't think it'll fool anyone, though. May 1st will prove that.
45.@steveguy1964(2025-04-12 17:47:54)
Got my local election papers thru today, ive already filled them out on myself wife & son all voted reform party in local elections ????????
46.@jimsmithcivils8459(2025-04-12 17:48:43)
Nationalising of industries etc is a left wing socialist ideal why would right wing reform want to be seen as left wing socialists? I don't understand
47.@tonypacke6954(2025-04-12 17:50:00)
It's the usual problem of British companies owned by foreigners. You can blame Margret Thatcher for that scenario. A lot of damage was done by the daughter whose father owned a tobacconist's and a grocery shop. Look how well the decimation of the coal industry happened under her watch! Just a criminal act that has continued by the elite that the serfs and peasants have had to pay for. Guess what country runs your transport and utilities, such as water.
48.@jyralnadreth4442(2025-04-12 17:51:56)
Labour are already screwed because of the gangs, wrecking the economy, upsetting the US, banning free speech, ....saving steel isn't going to change much
49.@Displays.1234.(2025-04-12 17:53:01)
Vote reform... Communist starmer is a disgrace....
50.@HalfBlindAssassin-i5q(2025-04-12 17:53:05)
