Will the scum fort bailout work?
I'm calling it a bailout because that's what it basically is.
We knew 12 months ago China We're gonna try and shut these furnaces down, but no one did anything about it now They're scrambling to get coal sent on to the shores of this country shipped in from Japan Before the furnaces cool down because then it's a very costly process to get them back up to heat again Also, it can do a lot of damage to them by letting them cool down James Murray who was supposed to be a measure a minister for the Treasury I think he's chief secretary to the Treasury from the Labour Party this morning with Mike Graham couldn't say how much it's going to cost I've seen losses per day of seven hundred thousand pounds per day now believe it or not.
I'm willing To have the taxpayer foot those losses if that means we keep producing steel and get the business running more efficiently If you bring people in from the private sector do not let people like Jonathan Reynolds who have no experience whatsoever in business Take over this it will be a disaster But if it means getting the Chinese out of our infrastructure I'm happy to do it get rid of some of these migrants that are costing us about eight million pounds a day That would be a good start and stop putting them all in hotels What's even worse many people don't know Japan is actually a net importer itself of coke and coal So they've already bought it from somewhere Then we're buying it off them for an even higher amount Because Milliband won't allow the Labour Party to open the coal mine in Cumbria that should have been opened by now So we can use our own home resources Which by the way would also be of less cost to the environment because you're not paying to ship it over here in huge Freight containers, but of course like everything net zero It's always about the look not what's actually going on Don't look at about who how many people die in the Congo etc Just look at that nice Tesla driving down the road And that's what they want you to think that this is good for the planet.
It's good for you when really the absolute opposite is true

2.@antonyetheridge1050(2025-04-14 17:03:18)
Everything they touch turns to taxpayer funded dust
3.@jamesbunyan9781(2025-04-14 17:09:21)
The answer is, in my view, probably no.
I come to this conclusion, because this government is absolutely inept, and is also compleely divorced from the working environment, and does not have a clue, about how industry works. It stems from an attitude, that assumes that the money comes in from tax revenues, without a clue, how, and why, that happens.
This government is incapable orf joined up thinking.
4.@alpinaCD(2025-04-14 17:09:35)
Absolutely, this is one of those " whatever it takes"
5.@icarus877(2025-04-14 17:10:15)
I would think Japan will have bought their coal from Australia.
6.@songscoops4205(2025-04-14 17:11:22)
1.Labour hasn't secured anything as of yet.
2.will Port Talbot get up and running.
Both scunthorpe and Port Talbot will run at a loss without orders...
7.@alexgrant4216(2025-04-14 17:11:41)
If run by Liebour it’ll be a complete financial disaster!
8.@camo68(2025-04-14 17:13:04)
It will work if they sack windy miller and scrap net zero then open up a couple of coal mines and start fracking.
Then we could spend our money on other things.
Not Chinese turbines and solar panels ????????
GB energy bought from China ????????.
Jokers
9.@wendyclark7438(2025-04-14 17:13:47)
It will if they drop all the Net Zero Crap, Open the Mine in Cumbria, and Put Tax on Imported Steel.
10.@robertbroatch8013(2025-04-14 17:14:34)
Milibands an utter disaster 2:10
11.@georgewheeldon-f8s(2025-04-14 17:15:38)

Labour couldn't organise a chips tea party...
13.@the_forbinproject2777(2025-04-14 17:21:53)
it will work , for a little while, just as planned
14.@debroahtaylor6398(2025-04-14 17:22:18)
There's so much BS out there about this, usual creative accounting ( think £20 billion black hole). Lots of media reporting by people who have no idea how an integrated steelworks operates. As for electric arcs furnaces, the are hasn't got an adequate electricity supply to facilitate those things.
15.@tonysmith2721(2025-04-14 17:22:28)
Whatever happens, WHATEVER HAPPENS. Don’t, whatever you do let labour take the credit for saving British steel. This is all down to Reform.
16.@shirleyflorance2671(2025-04-14 17:23:56)
Mad Miliband makes my blood boil
17.@dave710(2025-04-14 17:35:57)

It is all waffle!
18.@scottyjoe21(2025-04-14 17:41:21)

20.@lordveteran9126(2025-04-14 18:05:37)
Wow... all those jobs for migrants just opened up...
21.@HolbeachTiger(2025-04-14 18:13:08)

22.@dougie6886(2025-04-14 18:17:42)
The United Kingdom is now a third world country.
23.@michaelkibbey3957(2025-04-14 18:23:56)

24.@sirrobinofloxley7156(2025-04-14 18:48:28)
They'll be looking to get it from Mars before Britain
25.@letsbelogical2345(2025-04-14 19:05:27)
You cannot fight economics. So not in any of our lifetime's. Buy steel on the open market and spend the money on decent services.
26.@jenniferhaldane2819(2025-04-14 19:21:12)
Whats the betting the ships dont arrive in time. There is a ship load of stuff anchored 20 miles down the road not paid for. Why dont they use that. Milliband said cumbria has the wrong type of coal
27.@Anita-g5r7z(2025-04-14 19:24:50)
Net Zero = Absolute Zero turning Britain into a Third World wasteland of decline
28.@bekasa(2025-04-14 20:52:30)
You would almost think 'they' are saving assets for some future date.
29.@Hedgerow-Media-UK(2025-04-14 21:21:15)
Nope. The government runs South Eastern Trains at the moment. They'ev taken over from the tories. Most of the high-speed one trains, aka Javlin train and the local rolling stock is falling apart at the seams and are on the sidings waiting for spares for repairs. But the cheap skates in charge won't pay for them
30.@dps8435(2025-04-14 22:49:13)
Wonder how much that coal from Japan cost us .
31.@billh7106(2025-04-15 00:26:56)
How far will Britain fall before the British people remove this labour government
32.@wp70(2025-04-15 02:30:44)
after whats been coming out about fake or low quality chinese steel causing the office tower collapse in bangkok it would be better to get china out of british steel altogethher
33.@stevenbowman7766(2025-04-15 05:23:58)
Smoke and mirrors for the uneducated woke lefties who consume everything Liebour says , they are just proping the place up leaving the Chinese to run it , will end in tears as per usual with incompetant Liebour !!!!
34.@John-lk8to(2025-04-15 06:29:47)
Why would anyone doubt that Labour won't make this work ?
35.@ChrisLegg-i6s(2025-04-15 07:08:00)
It’s not steel it’s iron first stage of the process. Steel is a complete different furnace oven to remove the impurities of the iron to make the steel.
36.@Lousialee-hm3gu(2025-04-15 10:36:32)
Did you know that just one of those gigantic cargo ships causes more pollution in 1 year than all the aircraft combined in the world in a year?
37.@michelles2299(2025-04-15 11:33:09)
Having to get coal from the USA and Australia thats not very net zero is it when we have coal in the UK they closed down mines and pushed for net zero what a mess they have made
38.@AlanBennett-c5w(2025-04-15 11:41:11)
Not a dog's chance if it's run by our useless government
39.@ivorgreenplant(2025-04-15 12:09:12)
We are not allowed to make clean steel in the UK Milliband and his emmission genda wont allow it to happen ..
